How do I know if netball is cancelled in poor weather?
On rainy training days, our team will review the weather radar and complete a site inspection to ensure that the courts are safe to train. We will communicate whether training will continue as scheduled or be cancelled at 4pm via our Facebook page.

On rainy game days, WDNA will continually re-assess the weather prior to each round and communicate their decision via their Facebook page. SLNC will make every effort to share updates to our Facebook page once decisions are published by WDNA.
Who do I contact if a player is sick or injured, or away on holidays?
Prior to the season start, please contact registrations@springfieldlakesnetballclub.com. If the illness or injury will prevent the player for attending grading, we will ask them to complete a Grading Absentee Form.

During the season, please contact your coach or team manager ASAP regarding illness or injury so that they can make alternate game plans and seek out fill in players if necessary. Our volunteer coaches would be grateful if you let them know of any concerns during the week which might result in needing to play half a game.

If you have ongoing illness or injury concerns, please contact our Executive Committee netball@springfieldlakesnetballclub.com.

If you have planned holidays, please tell your coach as soon as they are booked so that plans can be made to accommodate this.
How can I get involved with the club?
Our club operates thanks to generous volunteers and we understand that everybody has different skills and time available to contribute. Here are some ways you could get involved:
-
join our SLNC Committee - you don't have to take on a role, anybody can come along and join in on discussions as a General Committee Member
-
help in the canteen at training - serve food and drinks OR cook the BBQ
-
coach a team - Foundational Coaching Accreditation through Netball Queensland with the full support of our SLNC Coaching Coordinators and fellow coaches
-
take on the team manager role - communicate information to players & families; make rosters for game day to ensure everyone has a turn at scoring & bringing fruit; support the coach on gameday ensuring players are ready to take the court (jewelry removed, nails trimmed, hair tied back).
-
score a game - this is often a shared role amongst all families in the team and managed by a team roster
-
learn to umpire
-
help with fundraising and events - this might be packing lolly bags for the canteen or helping to plan our end-of-year presentation (there are always lots of jobs, big and small)
-
offer trade or expert knowledge - if you have a trade or are particularly knowledgeable about a particular subject and would love to help please let us know, e.g. our annual Test & Tag requires a qualified sparky or a pro grant writer would be fab
-
awesome cheer squad - one thing SLNC prides itself on is our positive supporters, we can never get enough!

If you'd like to get involved please approach our Committee at training or on game day (we're in the purple shirts), send us a PM on Facebook or send an email to netball@springfieldlakesnetballclub.com.
Who do I contact if I have a concern with my team?
In the first instance, we encourage you to speak with your coach (if your coach is under the age of 18, please approach the team manager instead).
